Tamaqua man charged with fleeing checkpoint
A Tamaqua man failed to stop for a Pennsylvania State Police DUI Checkpoint that was set up between 11 p.m. Friday and 4 a.m. Saturday in Lowhill Township, Lehigh County.
State police in Fogelsville said Adrian Santana, 33, fled from officers but was taken into custody and charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police, recklessly endangering another person and related summary traffic offenses. Police did not say when the incident involving Santana took place.
Police said the checkpoint resulted in 108 motorists being stopped. One of them was arrested for driving under the influence; two underage drinking arrests were made; and 10 traffic citations were issued by officers.
