Lehighton couple married 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. David Eickhoff recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on Sept. 4, 1960 by the late Justice of The Peace Edward Lewis of Lehighton, who performed the ceremony in his office.

Mrs. Eickhoff is the former Thelma Wernett, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wernett Sr., Lehighton, and formerly of New Jersey.

Mr. Eickhoff is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Eickhoff, Lehighton.

The couple have five children: Cheryl, wife of Alan Sienkiewicz, Lehighton; Tammy Sterling, Weissport; Kevin Eickhoff, Ashfield; Brian Eickhoff, husband of Elizabeth, Ashfield; and Lynette Eickhoff, Lehighton.

They have 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A surprise 50th anniversary party was held in their honor for friends and family at the Lehighton Recreation Center on Sept. 4, and hosted by their children and grandchildren.
