Man charged with theft of services

A Schuylkill County man has been charged with theft of services for allegedly stealing electrical service.

State police at Frackville said David Heckman, 29, of 2707 Summer Valley Rd., in New Ringgold, East Brunswick Township, was charged after troopers received a complaint from PPL Electric Utilities, Wilkes-Barre office.

Troopers said Joseph Daniel, a loss prevention expert for PPL, claimed that Heckman used a jumper wire to bypass the electric meter at his home which enabled him to receive electric servcie for free. Total restitution sought by PPL is about $348, troopers said.

In addition to the theft count Heckman was also charged with criminal mischief, troopers said.
