Schuylkill cyclist in Lehigh crash

A Schuylkill County motorcyclist was involved in a crash in Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said Joseph J. Alex, 61, of Lost Creek, Shenandoah, was eastbound on Lower Macungie Road in Lower Macungie Township, about 4:43 p.m. on Monday, July 5, when he was approaching the intersection with Macungie Road. He saw vehicles stopped ahead of him and decided to lay his bike down rather than strike any of the stopped vehicles.

The bike was laid on its right side and slid about 100 feet before coming to rest. Alex was injured and treated at the scene by ambulance personnel.
