Monroe driver facing DUI charge

A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident on Saturday, July 3, about 11:39 p.m.

Pocono Mountain Regional police received a complaint of a minor accident along SR611 in Mt. Pocono. The driver was identified as John Burke, 43, of Mt. Pocono. He was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was then transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results, police said.
