Retail theft arrests reported in Monroe
Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on several retail theft arrests made by officers recently at Monroe County businesses.
On Saturday, July 3, about 5:26 p.m. officers were dispatched to Aharts Market, Blakeslee, for two individuals detained for theft. Arrested were Nathanael Claudio, 18, and a 16-year-old male juvenile, both from Jim Thorpe. Claudio was cited for theft and the juvenile for disorderly conduct. Claudio was cited and released and the juvenile was cited and released to the custody of his parents.
On Monday, July 5, officers were called to the Walmart store in Mt. Pocono for a theft report. Arrested were Isaiah Bannister, 19, of Blakeslee, and Joseph Castera, 18, of Effort. Police said Bannister was allegedly observed by store security selecting various products in the health and beauty area and placing them in a store bag and then leaving the store without paying for the items. Police said Castera acted as "lookout" in the incident. Both were cited and released.
On Tuesday, July 6, about 5:57 p.m. police were called to the Walmart store for another theft. Police said three juvenile females from Tobyhanna took $140 worth of merchandise from the store without paying for the items. The three were cited and released to the custody of their parents.
