Congratulations on animal ordinance
Congratulations to Palmerton Borough Council for their recent update to Palmerton's animal ordinance.
The prohibition of feeding stations for feral cats and wild cat colonies within the borough was a decision that was certainly a necessary action to protect public health and public safety. Such feeding stations out in the open would attract other wild animals searching for food. Those situations would put every resident at risk.
In addition, if someone would be scratched, bitten or harmed by allowing these wild cats to roam throughout town, it would seem the borough could also be held liable and responsible for that harm. I was relieved to see that borough council did the sensible thing.
Sincerely,
