Published July 15. 2010 05:00PM

A vehicle stop in Monroe County led to the jailing of the driver on an outstanding warrant.

State police at Lehighton said John P. Emmons, 41, of Saylorsburg, was stopped about 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, along Gilbert Rd., in Polk Township, for equipment violations. It was learned that a warrant had been issued for his arrest for failure to appear in Monroe County court in September 2009 for a drunk driving charge.

Emmons was taken into custody and lodged in the county prison in Snydersville pending further court action. He will also be charged with operating a vehicle while under DUI suspension and several other summary traffic violations, troopers said.
