July 22, 1969 Brian Turton fires a one-hitter and Tamaqua scores seven runs in the first inning to lead to a 12-2 District 18 Little League win over Valley. Turton, who also collects a two-run double and scores two runs, finishes the contest with 10 strikeouts. Brad Geiger hits a two-run homer and scores three runs while Whitey Williams also delivers a home run and scores two times. The winners, coached by Dick Jones, also receive two-run singles from Dennis Yelito and Rick Jones.
