Theft of TV probed in Carbon County

The theft of a television is being probed in Carbon County. It is one of several theft incidents and acts of criminal mischief being investigated by state police at Lehighton.

Gary Dieter, of 950 Delaware AVe, Apt. 3, Palmerton, Lower Towamensing Township, reported a 32-inch Polariod brand LCD television was removed from his apartment. He reported the incident at 6:58 p.m. on Sunday, July 18.

Lorraine A. Cavaluzzo, 34, of 565 Molasses Valley Rd., in Kunkletown, Eldred Township, Monroe County, reported someone removed about $20 in cash from her purse while at her residence. The incident occurred sometime between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 17.

Kenneth Hunt, 62, of Bethlehem, reported someone removed a new Durame brand auger, yellow in color, with two rusted bits from inside an unsecured barn along Gower Road, in Ross Township, Monroe County. The incident was reported on Saturday. The items were valued at $1,300.

Dawn Keller, 51, of the Bucher Apartments, located along Old Route 115, in Wind Gap, Ross Township, reported her 2002 Mazda 626 was stolen from the parking lot of the complex sometime between 12:30 and 5 a.m. on July 5.

Two criminal mischief incidents were reported.

Jennifer Wesoloski, of Old Route 115, south of Kunkletown Rd., in Ross Township, reported someone smashed the driver side rear quarter window on her 1999 Plymouth Voyager while parked at her residence. The incident occurred sometime between 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, and 9:30 a.m. on Monday. Damages were estimated at $200.

Troopers said someone damaged lights at both ends of the Towamensing Recreation fields concession stand located along Summer Mountain Road in the township, Carbon County. They also damaged the soffit to the roof. The incident occurred sometime between 2:30 p.m. on Sunday and 9 a.m. on Monday.
