Theft from Lehigh club is probed

Published July 22. 2010 05:00PM

State police at Fogelsville are investigating a theft incident at a Lehigh County club.

Troopers said unknown criminals entered the property of the Ontelaunee Rod & Gun Club, located at 8100 Gun Club Rd., in Lynn Township, and forcibly entered a small aluminum shed by breaking down a wooden door and breaking a set of deadblot locks. Inside the shed was a generator used to produce power for two water pumps that were placed in the center of a pond on the property.

The criminals then located an electrical box and shut off the power to one of the pumps. They then entered the pond and removed one of the pumps.

The pump is valued at $1,000 with damages to the shed estimated at $250. The incident occurred sometime between 4 p.m. on July 13 and 6:45 a.m. on July 14.
