Charged with DUI
Two Carbon County men were charged with driving under the influence (DUI) earlier this week.
According to state police at Lehighton, Ryan Edward Wurst, 23, of Jim Thorpe, was arrested for DUI on July 14, at 10:29 p.m., after being questioned at the scene of a large fight, located on Meckesville Road at Mt. Pocahontas, in Penn Forest Township.
Wurst displayed numerous signs of intoxication at the scene and was observed operating a motor vehicle at the scene.
Wurst refused a breath test and was released to his wife, after New York state declined to extradite him on an active warrant.
On July 15, at 7:16 p.m. a 2001 Mercury Sable, driven by Derek Frable, 27, of Palmerton, was observed by officers committing a traffic violation on Franklin Avenue, at Beltz Lane in Palmerton.
A routine traffic stop was initiated and further investigation revealed that Frable was under the influence of alcohol.
Charges will be filed accordingly at district court.
