Ice cream social

Western Pocono Lioness will meet at 7 p.m., July 27, at the American Legion on Route 209 in Gilbert, where they will meet the club's scholarship winners and enjoy an ice cream social.

Family Promise

Zion Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville served as host for the families receiving support from Family Promise this past week. It is one of the area's supporting churches to this program of helping families in crisis.

This week the church's calendar is filled the two gatherings of the Monroe County Seniors, meeting at 9 a.m., Wednesday, July 28 and Friday, July 30.

Saturday evening's worship service will begin at 5 p.m. as regularly scheduled.

Effort VBS

Monday, Aug. 2, from 9 a.m. to noon, is the first day for the Vacation Bible School at Effort UMC. Children can be registered by calling (570) 629-1890.

Touch of Home
