Both drivers in crash facing DUI
Both drivers involved in a crash in Monroe County are facing driving under the influence (DUI) charges. Pocono Mountain Regional police said the crash occurred about 1:20 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 1, at the intersection of SR611 and SR940 - the Five Points in Mt. Pocono.
Police said Kerry Watson, 62, of Harrisburg, was driving a Ford truck southbound on 611 and ran a red light at the intersection. His truck struck a Honda driven by Lisandro Hernandez, 23, of Blakely, Lackawanna County. Hernandez was turning onto 940 from SR196.
Both drivers were found to be under the influence. Watson failed field sobriety tests, police said. Hernandez was injured and taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. The DUI charges against both men is pending blood test results, police added.
