Man jailed for assault incident

A Schuylkill County man was jailed for assaulting another man with a beer bottle.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Daniel Troy Langtry 21, of Tremont, entered the residence of David A. Weikel, 39, of 2262 E. Main St., Sacramento, Hubley Township, about 6:31 p.m. on July 29. After a verbal argument Langtry struck Weikel with a beer bottle over the head and then punched him in the face, troopers said.

Weikel was taken by family members to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for treatment.

Langtry was taken into custody and arraigned on aggravated assault count before duty District Judge James K. Reily, of Pottsville. He was committed to the county prison after failing to post 10 percent of $20,000 bail.
