Chestnuthill supervisors

The Chestnuthilll board of supervisors is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 3, at the township municipal building on Route 715.

UMW picnic

United Methodist Women of Effort UMC will host the Eighth United Methodist Women Family Picnic for the congregational "family" at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 9, at the church. The UMW will provide the meats and drinks, but other UMC host attendees are asked to bring a covered dish to share.

Guest speaker

West End Rotary will welcome Lisa Rice of Mountain View Winery in Neola at its next breakfast meeting. That meeting is Thursday, Aug. 5, at the Western Pocono Community Library in Brodheadsville.

Spanish Mass

Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Gilbert will offer a Spanish Mass at 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 5. Regular Masses are held at 8 a.m. during the entire week as well as at 12:10 p.m. on many weekdays. Sunday Masses are at 10:30 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Monroe seniors

The West End Group of Monroe County Seniors will meet at 9 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 4, and Friday, Aug. 6, in Zion Lutheran's Fellowship Hall in Brodheadsville.

Art meander

Mary Jane Arner, Michelle Arner and Julia Saeger will be the three artists on display at Arner's Fresh Air Gallery during the Art Meander set for noon to 5 p.m., Aug, 14 and Aug. 15.

They are but three of the artists taking part in this event who are opening their respective gallery to the public.

Others are Alice Prall of Brodheadsville; Pat Smith on Akiba Road; Darleen Hyde of Brodheadsville; Will Daskal of Saylorsburg; Gary Embich of Saylorsburg; Charlene Taylor and Arlene Hez Conklin of Effort; Linda Marnell of Jonas; and Joy Warner of East Stroudsburg.

The entire event is free and light refreshments will be provided.
