Thanks to rescuers
Dear Editor:
June 28, 2010 started as a normal work day for me, but a short two hours later I was being life flighted to St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem.
My life could have ended that day if it weren't for my employees, Rich Greim and Robert Montesrin, as well as Steve Horst of Horst Excavating and EMT Mike Bright.
Thanks to their heroism, I am here today to write this letter. I also need to thank Jay Hollenbach Jr. and Jay Stidham for assisting in my rescue and Chris Hadesty, who took charge once I was in the ambulance. There are so many others who also deserve my thanks: the Life Flight crew who cared for me during transport; the Lombard Street neighbors and Tamaqua Area School District employees who all offered comfort to my wife, Carol; the men and women of the Tamaqua Fire Department, ambulance, rescue squad, fire police and Tamaqua Police who all assisted in the rescue; and everyone who kept me in their thoughts and prayers.
I just want to let everyone know how grateful I and my family are to each and everyone. What happened that day shows how a community comes together in a time of need. There are many good and professional people out there and it's a wonderful feeling knowing they are there when you need them. Most of all, I would like to thank the Lord for giving me these people to help in my hour of need, and for the Lord being with me. God bless you all.
