Three injured in Monroe crash

Three persons were injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 5:50 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, along Weir Lake Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

State police at Fern Ridge said Sean M. Scerbo, 18, of Brodheadsville, was driving a 1999 Volkswagen Jetta southbound when he lost control. The vehicle went onto the berm and struck an embankment with the front end. After impact the car continued south and struck the embankment a second time with its rear end coming to a final stop.

Scerbo and passengers Michael P. Schultz, 19, of Stroudsburg, and Travis J. Gordon, 18, of Effort, sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene by West End ambulance personnel.

Troopers cited Scerbo for traveling on roadways laned for traffic.
