Schuylkill driver cited after crash

A Schuylkill County driver was cited following a crash that occurred early Friday, July 30.

State police at Frackville said Michael H. Bechtel Jr., 18, of Shenandoah, was driving a 2000 Subaru Legacy southbound on SR4031 in West Mahanoy Township, about 12:30 a.m. when he lost control. The vehicle traveled though the northbound lane and onto the berm where the passenger side front struck a tree and came to rest.

Bechtel, who was not wearing a seat belt, received cuts to his head but did not require immediate medical attention.

Troopers said Bechtel was cited for not wearing a seat belt and also for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
