Minor injuries in Mahoning crash

A Mahoning Township woman sustained minor injuries during a one-vehicle accident Wednesday morning in the township.

Lisa Ann Klotz, 26, of Mahoning Drive West, was transported to the Lehighton Campus of Blue Mountain Health System by the Lehighton ambulance.

Police said the accident happened at about 9:05 on SR902 near the Mahoning Township Building.

Klotz told police she swerved to avoid an animal in the roadway. She said a car was coming in the opposite direction so she then overcompensated to avoid the animal and oncoming vehicle and in doing so crashed head-on into a tree.
