August 12, 1956 The Jim Thorpe Indians rally from a 5-1 deficit to gain a 6-5 10-inning Upper Lehigh Valley League win over Saegersville. Jimmy McElhenney, Louie Huber and Michael Hodor each collect two hits for Thorpe, while Johnny Smith contributes a triple. Francis Juracka chips in with a hit and two runs scored. Willard DeFebbo strikes out seven in earning the pitching win.
