Monroe crashes
State police at Lehighton reported on two crashes investigated by troopers, both occurring in Polk Township, Monroe County.
About 1:40 p.m. on Aug. 4 troopers said Gladys E. Borger, 85, of Kunkletown, was driving a 1990 Buick Century along SR560 when the car drifted off the road and sideswiped a bridge and then struck a maibox. Borger sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention.
On Aug. 5 about 11:30 a.m. Barry W. Borger, 64, of Kunkletown, was driving a 1997 Ford F350 truck along SR209 when the vehicle went off the left side and struck a retaining wall at the northwest corner of 209 and HTY Road.
Borger was injured and taken by West End ambulance to St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
