In the opening game, Ben Moyer collects three hits while Gus Pajakenas adds two hits and two runs scored in a 5-4 victory. Starting pitcher Bobby Bassler strikes out 11 batters while reliever Earl Steigerwalt picks up the mound win. In the nightcap, Dick Young finishes with two hits and Steigerwalt earns another victory in a 5-3 decision.
