W.P. police warn of daylight crimes

Published August 20. 2010 05:00PM

West Penn Township Police Chief Brian Johnson is warning residents to be wary after the attempted daylight robbery of an elderly woman.

Police are investigating the incident, which happened at mid-day Wednesday, when a man and a woman came to the elderly resident's home along SR443 and told her they were there to fix a leak.

When the resident hesitated to let them in they pushed their way in and went around as if they had fixed something, then demanded payment.

When the resident told them she had no money, they told her "all old people have money around the house."

Then they left, saying they would send her a bill.
