Granted divorce
Nicole Paulo was granted a divoce from Timothy Paulo, 101 Market St., Tamaqua. They were married June 22, 1996.
Michael J. Watkins, 34 W. High St., Coaldale, was granted a divorce from Lavina E. Watkins, 505 W. Water St., Coaldale. They were married April 29, 1989.
Amy M. Gibson, Pottsville, was granted a divorce from Parker A. Gibson, North Carolina. They were married Dec. 26, 2000.
State sentence
Angel Muniz, 31, Cressona, who entered a guilty plea to a charge of harassment by a prisoner of a correctional officer at the state prison facility in Mahanoy Township, was sentenced by Judge Charles M. Miller to serve 36 to 72 months in a state correctional institution, pay $50 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Accout and court costs. The sentence shall commence at the expiration of the present sentence he is serving.
Treasurer's report
County Treasurer Jacqueline V. McGovern released her monthly report on the county's financial status. She reported the beginning balance of all funds was $51,134,379.32, deposits, $14,711,146.64; disbursements, $12,895,219.42, leaving a balance at the end of July at $52,950,306.54.
Modify bail
Christine Ritter, 24, of 305 Race St., Tamaqua, had her bail modified to $2,000 percentage cash by President Judge William E. Baldwin. She faces a charge of disorderly conduct.
Jasper Poland, 31, of 108 Market St., Tamaqua, had his bail set at $5,000 unsecured and a bench warrant previously issued dissolved by Judge Baldwin. He faces a charge of giving a false identification to police.
Daniel Langtry, 21, Tremont, had his bail modified to $5,000 percentage cash by Judge Baldwin. He faces a charge of aggravated assault. Strict instructions were attached to his bail that he shall not have any contact with his father or the victim and he is subject to a curfew from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. unless he becomes employed.
Michael Bruce, 31, of Oxford, Ala., had his bail set at $10,000 unsecured on each of three charges including retail theft, giving a false identification and receiving stolen property.
Credit defaults
Arbitration boards handed down rulings in favor of credit card companies against cardholders as follows:
Chase Bank, USA, NA, of San Antonio, Tex., awarded judgement for $8,9792.80 against Sherri L. Padelsky, of 23 Third St., Pottsville.
HSBC Bank of Nevada, Las Vegas, Nev., was awarded judgement for $1,500 against John B. Hollway III, of 1701 Walnut St., Ashland.
Discovery Bank, New Albany, Ohio, was awarded a judgement for $9,798.55 against David C. Kohr, 29 Pine Heights Drive, Pine Grove.
First National Bank of Omaha, Omaha, Neb., was awarded judgement for $4,141.50 against James Edmondson, 464 Main St., Auburn.
Foreclosing
Chase Home Finance, LLC, Columbus, Ohio, filed a suit against Gregory J. and Patricia A. Confer seeking to foreclose on their property at 4 Laurelwood Street, Tamaqua (Rush Township) for allegedly defaulting on mortgage payments. They seek a judgement for $91,430.81, primary debt plus costs totalilng a judgment sought for $94,410.83.
Back taxes
Tamaqua Area School District filed a suit against George F. Stephen Jr., seeking a judgment be entered against his property at 309 Owl Creek Road, Tamaqua, for school property taxes owed in amount of $968.34.

Katherine Firestone, Pine Grove, was granted a divorce from John P. Firestone, Shenandoah. They were married July 7, 2007.
Christine Roland, Port Carbon, was granted a divorce from John Roland, Schuylkill Haven. They were married Aug. 12, 1989.
Shellty Nohrgang, Ringtown, was granted a divorce from James Nahrgang, Macungie. They were married Sept. 2, 2000.
Nicole Schreppel, Port Carbon, was granted a divorce from Shawn Schreppel, Pottsville. They were married March 3, 2004.
Jeannie M. Hafer, Schuylkill Haven, was granted a divorce from Nathan D. Hafer, Port Clinton. They were married May 21, 1994.
Elizabeth K. Miller was granted a divorce from David E. Miller, both of Orwigsburg. They were married Sept. 16, 2000.
Roberta Moyer, Jonestown, was granted a divorce from Dennis D. Moyer, Schuylkill Haven. They were married April 2, 2001.
