Driver facing DUI after Monroe crash

The driver involved in a one vehicle crash in Monroe County is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI)

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers were dispatched to a crash about 1:15 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28, along SR115 near Kuhenbeaker Rd., in Blakeslee. Police said Tabatha M. Lopez, 22, of Blakeslee, was driving a 1998 Saturn that left the northbound lane and struck a tree along the berm.

Lopez was found to be under the influcne and failed field sobriety tests. She was then transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test and treatment of injuries she sustained. The DUI charge is pending the test results, police said.

Assisting police at the scene were volunteers form the Tunkhannock Township Fire Company and state troopers from the Fern Ridge barracks.
