Vehicle stop leads to fugitive arrest

A vehicle stop for motor vehicle code violation led to the arrest of a fugitive from justice.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said about 8:23 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 25, officers stopped a white van along Country Place Drive, in Tobyhanna, Coolbaugh Township, for an expired inspection sticker.

The driver was identified as Jaroslaw Rogowski, 43, of Tobyhanna. A check was made of Rogowski and it was learned there was an active warrant for his arrest issued from the U.S. Immigration for Deportation. He was taken into custody and taken to police headquarters. Immigration authorities later arrived and took Rogowski into custody.
