Summit Hill

Presbyterian church

The Summer schedule of services at the Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill, will end this Sunday, Sept. 5. This week's service will begin at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

Beginning Sunday, Sept. 12, the usual worship hours will resume as follows:

Sundays Junior choir rehearsal, 8:45 a.m.; Sunday school, 9:15 a.m.; worship service, 10:30 a.m., with Holy Communion to be celebrated on the first Sunday of each month; Fellowship coffee time, 11:30 a.m., or after the worship service.

On Wednesdays, the Chancel Choir will rehearse at 7 p.m.

The Presbyterian Women will resume meeting on the second Monday of each month at 1 p.m. All women of the church are welcome to participate.

St. Paul Lutheran

Labor of Love Sunday will be celebrated this weekend at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill. During the 10:30 a.m. worship service, a of the ELCA World Hunger Appeal boxes will take place.

There will be no Sunday school meeting this week at the church. It was inadvertently stated the meeting was to be held on Sept. 3 when the session took place on Aug. 25.

Methodist Charge

The schedule for the Coaldale/Summit Hill United Methodist Charge for Sunday, Sept. 5, is as follows:

Worship services will be held at 9 a.m. in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church and at 11 a.m. in the Coaldale United Methodist Church. The Rev. Burgess Gordon, pastor, will officiate at both services.

The adult Sunday school will be held at 10 a.m. in the Coaldale church.

Coaldale

First Congregational Church

Morning Worship will be held at First Congregational Church at 9 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 5, followed by Adult Sunday School at 10 a.m.

The Women's Class of the church will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7. Choir rehearsal will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8.

Activities for the following week include:

Morning Worship, 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, with Sunday School for all ages, kindergarten through adult, at 10 a.m.

The church board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13.

All are welcome to attend the services and/or activities.

Nesquehoning

Woman's club

The Nesquehoning Woman's Club will hold its opening dinner on Monday, Sept. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Viennese Villa.
