Lansford police deal with criminal incidents

Lansford police have been busy with a number of criminal incidents:

On Aug. 1, a resident on the 200 block of W. Ridge Street reported vandalism to the driver-side of his vehicle. Some type of sharp object was used to scratch the paint from the fender to the quarter panel.

On Aug. 2, a resident reported a break-in to his residence. A door was damaged but nothing appeared to be taken from the residence.

On Aug. 6, a burglary was reported at the former Daily Catch restaurant at 36 E. Ridge St. A large amount of copper pipe was cut and removed from the building and was later sold to a local scrap yard and later recovered.

On Aug. 6, a resident from Edgemont reported a large amount of aluminum and cast iron stolen from the property, including two cast iron boilers. The theft occurred sometime between July 30 and Aug. 6. A cash reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the individual(s) involved.

On Aug. 7, a resident on the 600 block of E. Patterson St. reported the antenna and taillight on his vehicle was damaged.

A female from W. Bertsch St., reported an XBOX stolen from the residence sometime between 4 p.m. and 5p.m. Aug. 9.

On Aug. 9, a female from the 100 block of W. Abbott St. reported her M&T bank card was stolen and was used numerous times without her knowledge.

On Aug. 11, a resident on the 200 block of E. Patterson St. reported vandalism to her vehicle. The vehicle was parked on Chestnut Street and was doused with some type of paint thinner, causing extensive damage.

On Aug. 11, a resident on the 500 block of E. Bertsch St. reported a computer was stolen from her residence.

On Aug. 13, a resident on West Ridge St. reported that $200 and jewelry was removed from her apartment by someone who was living there. The individual has since moved from the apartment.

On Aug. 17, a resident from the Midrise apartments reported that $3,000 was stolen from a desk inside her apartment. She did not report the theft until Aug. 23.

On Aug.19, Turkey Hill reported a male walked into the store the previous evening and attempted to purchase cigarettes, milk, and a candy bar. The access card denied the purchase for the food items. The male then paid for the cigarettes and took the other items without paying. When the clerk questioned him about not paying for the other items, he said, "Too bad" and walked out of the store. Video surveillance is being checked to identify the male.

On Aug. 21, a resident on the 300 block of W. Kline Ave. reported that someone damaged the roof of his garage by removing sections of shingles.

On Aug. 26, a female reported a burglary to her residence on the 400 block of E. Bertsch St. Taken was over $200 in food and a pink and white prom dress.

On Sept. 1, a resident from the 200 block of E. Patterson St. reported the windshield on his pickup truck was damaged while parked near the intersection of Chestnut and Patterson streets during the morning hours of Sept. 1.
