Schuylkill driver facing DUI count

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI).

State police at Frackville said Jospeh F. Thurs, 36, of Frackville, was observed driving along SR4030 in Gilberton about 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 5, in the middle of the road. He then entered SR924 toward Frackville and accelerated with speeds reaching 90 miles-per-hour.

He was eventually stopped and found to be under the influence. He submitted to a breath test at the barracks which showed he was over the legal limit of .08 percent.

He was charged with DUI.
