Monroe driver injured in crash

A Monroe County driver was injured in a one vehicle crash that occurred about 9:55 a.m . on Saturday, Sept. 11, along SR715 in Jackson Township.

State police at Fern Ridge said Charles H. Burns, 76, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Venture northbound when the vehicle drifted off onto the right berm and struck a tree and overturned onto the passenger side.

Burns was thrown into the passenger seat and had to be extricated from the vehicle by rescue personnel using the jaws-of-life tool. Bruns was taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for treatment of injuries.
