Tax collector

Nesquehoning tax collector, Pat Vito, will be on vacation from Oct. 17-24.

Senior boxes

The senior boxes will be handed out in Nesquehoning at the Meed's Methodist Church on Oct. 1.

Healing ministry

A bereavement group at St. Francis of Assisi in Nesquehoning is forming for anyone struggling with the grief process in the loss of a loved one regardless if the loss is recent or happened a long time ago. The Fall Session Bereavement Group will begin Oct. 11 and will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. each Monday for a period of six to eight weeks. The group will meet in the St. Francis of Assisi Parish Hall on Mill Street.

NCFC Auxiliary

The New Columbus Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 7 p.m. at the fire company.

President Gerry McConnon will conduct the meeting. The hospitality committee will be Melva McArdle and Frances Vignone.

Woman's club

The next meeting of the Nesquehoning Woman's Cub will be held on Monday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church hall. Serving on the hospitality committee will be Chairwoman Louise Stoffa. Assisting her will be Frances Abitanta, Marilyn Amodea, Mary Lengyel, and Vilma Sniscak.

The program will feature Alessandra Crum on Spirit Creations Art.
