Four persons were injured, none seriously, in a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 1:56 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 28, along SR501 in Pine Grove Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Andrew A. Amon II, 75, of Tremont, was driving a 1996 Dodge Dakota pickup truck southbound when he failed to negotiate a left curve in the road. The truck traveled through both lanes of the roadway and then went onto the west berm. The truck then began to spin and struck an embankment, which caused it to overturn onto its roof. The truck came to rest facing southeast along the berm.

Amon and passengers Margaret J. Rowlands, 55, Renee L. McCreynolds, 42, and Wayne B. McCreynolds, 48, all of Tremont, were injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville. Amon and Renee McCreynolds sustained minor injuries and the other two moderate injuries, troopers said.

Amon was cited for traveling on roadways laned for traffic.

Troopers also investigated a one-vehicle crash about 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday along Fox Road, near Hetzels Church Road, in Washington Township.

Troopers said Christina L. Buggy, 37, of Pine Grove, was driving a 2006 Mazda 3 westbound when she had to swerve to avoid a deer entering the road. The car left the road and struck a tree.

Buggy was not injured.
