Lehighton arrests
Lehighton police reported on three arrests made by officers recently.
Police said on Sept. 21 about 3 p.m. Edwin Mertz, 51, of 131 Mauch Chunk St., Lehighton, was cited for public drunkenness in the 100 block of S. First St.
Ernest Dash, 42, of 17 Mahoning Drive East, Lehighton, was cited for violation of the borough's curfew ordinance involving his 15-year-old child. The incident occurred on Saturday, Sept. 28, about 2:30 a.m. at the rear of 101 N. First St.
The ordinance states no one under the age of 18 can be outside past 11 p.m. without a parent or guardian, police noted.
A 15-year-old Franklin Township male was cited for harassment for striking a 13-year-old male student at the Lehighton Middle School.
The incident occurred about 12:20 p.m. on Sept. 16, police said.
