State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on three crashes investigated by troopers along Schuylkill County roadways over the past weekend.

A crash occurred about 5:55 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 1, along SR61 at W. Bacon St., in Palo Alto. Troopers said Michael J. Thomsen, 26, of Flemington, N.J., was westbound on W. Bacon St. and stopped at the intersection with SR61. Thomsen then pulled out and attempted to turn left into the left southbound lane of 61. The front right corner of his 2007 Toyota Camry struck the left side of a trailer being towed by a 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by Jeremy Kopecky, 25, of Denver, Colo., who was southbound at the time.

No one was injured in the crash. Troopers cited Thomsen for stop signs and yield signs.

Troopers probed a crash about 4:40 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3, along Main St. (SR209), in Tremont. Troopers said Peggy A. Schaeffer, 54, of Tower City, was driving a 1997 Saturn SL1 when she left her lane of travel due to the glare of the sun. The right front of her car struck the left rear of a parked 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt and then hit the left rear of a parked 2007 Mazda RX-8.

Schaeffer and her 1-year-old female passenger were not injured. Troopers cited her for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Also on Sunday, about 5:05 p.m., a crash occurred along Main St. (SR209), in Porter Township. Troopers said Linda F. Schaeffer, 54, of Hegins, was driving a 2003 Ford Mustang southbound when the passenger in the vehicle, Basilio Dejesus, 43, also of Hegins, had a medical emergency which caused the driver to be distracted. The car went onto the berm and rode the guide rails for about 75 feet.

Schaeffer was not injured but Dejesus was taken to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, by LifeFlight helicopter for treatment of the medical condition, troopers said.
