Walking group

Members of Salem St. Paul's Lutheran Church are walking to Bethlehem, Christ's birthplace, from Kresgeville. They started in July and will arrive in Bethlehem in December, in time for Christmas. Starting Monday's, the Walking Group will meet at 5:30 p.m. (call Karinsue for place at (570) 722-3630).

It's free and all ages welcome.

Food pantry

Food is being collected for the West End food pantry (PVEN) on Oct. 10. Sunday School and confirmation classes are encouraged to bring cans and boxes of food for local hungry people. Please put food by the altar at Salem St. Paul's.

Needlework group

A needlework group will start meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 1:30 p.m. in the ministry room at Salem St. Paul's. They have decided to make raggedy quilts for various organizations. Anyone interested is invited to join them. Please bring scissors and/or a measuring device. They are in need of spools of thread, clean fabric pieces flannel (even old flannel sheets to be used as the inner layer); denim (old jeans); cottons; etc. If you have anything to donate, please contact Sue Potts.

College students and military

Please give the names and addresses of anyone away at college or in the military to Salem St. Paul's. They would like to start sending out care packages in November. Contact Ruby Dunlap at (570) 730-4327or email at rubyd@ptd.net
