Identity theft incident probed

State police at Lehighton are investigating a incident of identity theft.

Troopers said an unknown person used the social security number of Randall Ray Boyer, 79, of 81 Bear Creek Lake Drive, in Jim Thorpe, Penn Forest Township, and opened a credit card account at a Target store in Gainesville, Fla. The person then used the card to make purchases totaling $1,460.
