Schuylkill crashes
State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on two crashes probed by troopers recently on Schuylkill County roadways.
A two vehicle crash occurred about 5:18 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, along Chestnut St. (SR183), in Cressona. Troopers said Stanley J. Petrovich, 70, of Ashland, was driving into a lot at the Chestnut Street Maket while Marty A. Miller, 45, of Auburn, was southbound.
Troopers said Petrovich failed to yield the right-of-way to Miller. The front of Petrovich's 1995 Mercury Sable struck the right front quarter panel of Miller's 2005 Nissan Altima.
Petrovich and his wife, Joan, 66, and Miller and her passengers, Colleen Miller, 67, and Alexy Miller, 5, were all not injured. Petrovich was cited for vehicles entering or crossing roadway.
Troopers probed a two vehicle crash about 8:53 p.m. on Oct. 14 along SR61 in North Manheim Twonship, at Manheim Road. Troopers said Russell F. Staller III, 25, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 2006 Ford Focus northbound in the left turn lane and approaching the intersection while Michael E. Naftzinger, 41, of Auburn, was southbound driving a 1998 Chrysler Cirrus.
Troopers said Staller attempted to turn left and pulled into the path of Naftzinger. No one was injured. Troopers cited Staller for vehicle turning left.
