DUI arrests

State police at Lehighton reported on two driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by troopers on Wednesday, Oct. 13.

About 10:08 p.m. troopers stopped a vehicle along Silver Springs Road at Kunkletown Road, in Eldred Township, Monroe County, for a traffic violation.

The driver was identified as Gilbert Borger, 56, of Kunkletown.

He was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was placed under arrest for DUI of alcohol or a controlled substance. Charges will be filed, troopers said.

At 10:30 p.m. troopers stopped a vehicle along SR534 at Beltzville Drive, in Polk Township, Monroe County, for several traffic violations.

The driver was identified as Christopher David Tworkowsky, 18, of Kunletown. He was found to be under the influence and transported to the Palmerton Hospital for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending.
