A student at the Palmerton Area Junior/Senior High School was cited following an incident at the school in Lower Towamensing Township.

State police at Lehighton said troopers were called to the school about 11:03 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 18, for a report of a disorderly incident.

Troopers said a student, no age or gender was given, caused a disturbance in a classroom by making noise when told to stop by a teacher. The student then continued to cause a disturbance and stated out loud on two separate occasions that the teacher would get slapped.

The student was issued a non-traffic citation for harassment, troopers said.
