Crashes probed on I80 in Schuylkill
State police at Frackville reported investigating two crashes along Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County over the past weekend.
A crash occurred about 2:53 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22, in Mahanoy Township. Troopers said Adam J. Marquis, 26, of Syracuse, N.Y., was northbound in a 2007 Ford Mustang when he went onto the west berm. The car then spun and its driver's side impacted with the guard rail, then traveled back across both lanes and came to rest on the east berm.
Marquis was not injrued. Troopers cited Marquis for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
The second crash occurred about 1:28 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 24, in Kline Township. Troopers said James P. Miller, 30, of Pittston, was driving a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound when a deer entered the road in front of him. The front end of the Jeep struck the deer.
Damages were moderate to the vehicle. Miller and two passengers were not injured.
