Carbon burglary
State police at Lehighton are investigating a burglary at a Carbon County residence. It was one of two break-ins probed by troopers.
The home of Wendy C. Kneller, 37, of White St., Weissport, was entered by someone who forced open a front door. Once inside they removed the following items: GE chest freezer, GE washer, GE dryer, GE air conditioner and a woodstove with a total estimated value of $1,500.
The entry occurred sometime between Oct. 1 and Wednesday, Oct. 13.
The residence of Carl L. Toleno Jr., 41, of White Oak Drive, in Kunkletown, Polk Township, Monroe County, was entered by unknown means. Removed was the following: a Saco gold watch and gold bracelet, LaSalle gold watch, silver pocket watch, black onyz ring, gold diamond earrings, gold chain, diamond bracelet and onyz bracelet and a birthday card containing $200. Total estimated value of the missing items is $2,000.
Troopers are also investigating vandalism to a cluster of mailboxes at the intersection of Lakeview Drive and Kunkletown Road, in Ross Township, Monroe County, that occurred sometime on Saturday, Oct. 9, between 4 p.m. and midnight.
