Three injured in Schuylkill crash
Three persons were injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 8:39 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 3, along SR895 (Rock Road), in Washington Township, Schuylkill County.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said Alycia A. Dockey, 17, of Tremont, was driving a 1997 Volkswagen Jetta westbound and failed to negotiate a slight left curve. The car went off the north side and struck a dirt embankment with the passenger side front bumper. The car then traveled about 60 feet along the embankment before it began to rotate counter-clockwise.
As the car rotated it traveled another 55 feet crossing both lanes of travel and off on the south side of the road. The car then struck a barn and concrete retaining wall with its front end. After impact with the barn and wall, the car continued to rotate and traveled about 30 feet before it came to rest facing southeast blocking both lanes of travel.
Dockey and passenger, Rachel F. Joseph, 19, of Pine Grove, were flown by LifeLion helicopter to the Hershey Medical Center for treatment of what troopers said were moderate injuries. A second passenger, Kaylee R. Bender, 17, of Pine Grove, sustained a minor injury and was released to her parents after being treated at the scene.
Troopers charged Dockey with driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.
