Bucks man jailed for robbery

A Bucks County man was jailed on Monday for a robbery in Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said James Edward Cheety, 26, of Bensalem, was committed to the county prison in Pottsville on charges of robbery, simple assault, theft and harassment.

According to troopers Cheety wielded a brick while robbing Michael Wagner, 18, and a 17-year-old juvenile, both from Auburn, about 7:30 p.m. the incident occurred at the intersection of Second and Washingtont sts., in Auburn. Troopers said during the confrontation Wagner was struck multiple times in the head and hands.

Cheety took Wagner's wallet and the teens' cell phone. He was apprehended a short distance from the scene, troopers said.
