Monroe driver facing DUI count

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on two recent arrests for driving under the influence (DUI).

George Alamo, 34, Pocono Lake, was stopped by police at 4:10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, on Sullivan Trail at Sullivan Road. Upon approach, police smelled a strong odor of alcohol. Further investigation revealed Alamo was intoxicated and incapable of safe driving. Alamo was arrested and consented to a blood-alcohol test. The DUI charge is pending the test results.

Robert Repa, 22, of Albrightsville, was charged at 1:42 a.m. Nov. 5 in Blakeslee. Police were patrolling on SR115 in Tunkhannock Township when they saw a silver Cadillac sedan, running, with its lights on, in the Murphy's Loft parking lot. They approached the car and saw a male slumped over in the front driver's seat.

After waking Repa and speaking with him, they noticed a strong odor of alcohol emanating from him.

Repa was arrested after failing several field sobriety tests.
