Monroe driver facing DUI count

A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9.

State police at Lehighton said Daniel A. Smiley, 45, of Kunkletown, was stopped along Chestnut Ridge Road in Eldred Township for several motor vehicle code violations. At the stop Smiley was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest for DUI.
