Warrant issued for man in theft case

A warrant has been issued for Mizaell Yarro, 20, of 106 Lansford Court. Yarro faces charges from an incident which took place on April 13 at 3:26 p.m. Charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property were filed by Officer Brian Horos.

Anyone who knows of his whereabouts is asked to contact police at (570) 645-5844.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, Horos received a complaint from a borough woman who said her son's Avigo Nasty 20-inch Boy's BMX bicycle had been stolen from in front of her residence.

The next night, April 14, at 9:09 p.m., Horos went to the Turkey Hill Minit Mart to meet with the complainant, who had found the bike and Yarro, who had allegedly stolen it, at the store.

Horos arrested Yarro, took him to the police station, read him his Miranda rights. Yarro gave him a written statement admitting to having stolen the bike.
