Crystal Bauer, daughter of Shawn and Annamarie Bauer of Kunkletown, was honored Sunday at Effort United Methodist by The General Board of Higher Education and Ministry, Office of Loans and Scholarship, with a certificate of recognition for her academic pursuits, leadership ability, Christian character and active membership in the United Methodist Church.

That recognition was presented to Crystal by Pastor Robin Fisher. She is currently a student at Messiah College.

Monroe Seniors

The Monroe Seniors that meet at Zion Lutheran Fellowship Hall in Brodheadsville are scheduled to meet at 9 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 1, and Friday, Dec. 3.

PVEN Board

The monthly meeting of the board of directors for the Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network is set for 9 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 2, at Zion Lutheran in Brodheadsville.

Band parents

Pleasant Valley Band Parents will meet at 7 p.m. at the high school on Thursday, Dec. 2.

Board reorganization

The Pleasant Valley Board of Education will meet at 8 p.m., Monday, Dec. 6, for purpose of reorganization. The next regular meeting will be at 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 16.

Community dinner

About 30 people attended the community Thanksgiving dinner at Effort UMC on Thanksgiving Day. Weather concerns may have kept that number down this year as certain areas received more snow and ice than others.

Touch of Home

The first December meeting for Operation: Touch of Home will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 7, at the American Legion Post home in Gilbert.

Supervisors' meeting

Chestnuthill Township supervisors will meet at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 7, at the Chestnuthill Township Municipal Building on Route 715, Brodheadsville.
