Schuylkill crashes

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on two crashes probed by troopers that occurred on Schuylkill County roadways earlier this week.

A hit and run crash was reported about 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 6, along SR209, near SR125, in Tremont. Troopers said a vehicle was traveling northbound when the right passenger's side mirror struck the left driver's side mirror of a 2007 Dodge Caravan, parked at the above location. After impact the driver fled the scene north on 209.

The second crash occurred about 8:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 7, along SR443 in Pine Grove Township. Troopers said Keith R. Lorfink, 35, of Harrisburg, was eastbound while John J. Lyons, 28, of Williamstown, was westbound. Lorfink slowed down to make a left turn into a parking lot and pulled directly into the path of Lyons.

The front of Lyon's 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier struck the right front wheel area of Lorfink's 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Lyons sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention.

Troopers cited Lorfink for vehicle turning left.
