DUI arrests

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on three driving under the influence (DUI) arrests that are pending.

On Nov. 29 about 12:12 a.m. officers came upon a vehicle in a ditch along Kuhenbeaker Road at Long Pond Road. The driver was identified as Daniel Kelly, 43, of Scotrun. He was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was then taken to the Pocono Medical Center (PMC), East Stroudsburg, for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

On Saturday, Dec. 4, about 9:21 p.m. police observed a vehicle exiting the Penn Mart lot on SR196 and taking a wide turn, almost causing an accident with an approaching vehicle. Police followed the vehicle north on 196 and observed several traffic violations and driving erratically.

A vehicle stop was made and the driver identified as Ashraf Mohammad, 36, of Tobyhanna. He was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was then taken to PMC for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results.

Also on Saturday, about 2:18 a.m., officers made a traffic stop along SR196 at Pocono Heights Road for a motor vehicle code violation. The driver was identified as Darwin Gaskin, 36, of Coolbaugh. He was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was then taken to PMC for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results.
